Plantiga Technologies Awarded NSERC Grant, Launches 1Grid Prototype for Securing Highly-Sensitive Potential Targets

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Dec. 8, 2010) Plantiga Technologies, who recently registered its international patents, has been granted funding by the NSERC to further develop its security algorithms and systems administration of the Plantiga 1Grid® Security solution. In the same week, Plantiga has completed the commercial prototype.

Plantiga, with offices in Vancouver and Singapore, has developed an improvement on force plate technology which measures gait, posture and movement then analyzes this data in real-time. Footwear-based, 1Grid® is the only biometric security technology to be non-invasive, can be tracked 100% of the time throughout a facility and provides accuracy to the level of DNA testing.

The grant from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada will be used solely to enhance the development specifications of the communications and administration Command Centre software. This system manages the entire environment and demands 100% accuracy and security in itself.

“This grant enables Plantiga to work with one of the leading artificial intelligence and biometric software algorithm specialists,” explains Quin Sandler, Plantiga’s CEO. “Dr. Traore will work with our engineering and commercial team, in Australia, Singapore and Vancouver, to ensure the Command Centre can fulfill the security needs of airports, power and water utilities, research labs and other secure facilities.”

Plantiga has one of the foremost biometric technologists, based in Australia, working on commercial production, and the senior team runs international business development from Singapore and Vancouver. Already in partnership negotiations with leading security integrators, Plantiga is currently raising Series A investment to complete its commercially available infrastructure.

The Plantiga 1Grid® Security Prototype

The prototype of Plantiga’s 1Grid® Security technology now enables the company to present its potential to both security integrators and potential clients. The demonstration shows real-time data being transmitted and analyzed within a presentation environment.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2010) - Plantiga Technologies Inc., a privately-held Vancouver, BC, based company, which is now in the pre-commercialization phase of its company's development, today announced the formal completion of its international patent registration.

Plantiga has developed a biometric technology measuring gait, posture and movement, which will provide the highest level of security for uses in Homeland Security, air, sea and other port protection, major community utilities (water, electricity, gas, nuclear, etc.), pharmaceutical research facilities, Armed Forces, and other facilities requiring 100% security integrity.

NRC Grant Comes Through

We've officially received our first grant from Canada's National Research Council. This grant enables us to further our product development. After this phase of work is completed, we will be able to demonstrate our technology (both software and hardware) to customers and partners. This work is crucial for Plantiga to sign-up integrator partners.

Plantiga - a Canadian company that is proposing to authenticate people using sensors in the soles of their shoes - says it is in the final stages of negotiating a research contract with a reputable University in Australia.

The company says this is a significant development as it marks the next phase in its technology's progression.

So what is the technology in question? Plantiga claims to have radically altered the design of a conventional shoe. Its patent pending technology has altered the shoe's sole, replacing it with an adaptive interface that generates gait and movement information.
