Why an adapting shoe is needed

What separates the new shoe from every other shoe is its thoroughly adapting nature. This is important because the fundamental problem with existing shoes is the lack of accommodation for most of the natural foot movements. Current footwear aims to bind the foot -- mostly done so we do not wander about on top of a shoe's foot-bed. Today, when a shoe fits, it means your foot is bound when it is enclosed. From the ongoing experience of this, our bodies will have unconsciously learned some very bad habits, and they will be subject to them so long as they have to accommodate the shoe, rather than have a shoe that accommodates them.

The basic benefits of the new shoe are quite extensive; as well as reaching into many existing areas and markets, they go to another level. For example, a shoe will enable its user to have complete control of their movements through feedback from the ground. It means the constant slippage of the foot within a deadened shoe will no longer factor in. They will not need to compensate for what is a regular fault with the old shoes.

Adapting shoes have the advantage over the current lot because of the efficiencies. With what goes into its construction, each shoe is allowing the individual to maximize the range of motion within their foot stride -- in all its potential. This means that all the energy that is built up in the modern shoes, only to be lost, will now be realized and transferred when new shoes are used. What comes from efficiency is increased speed, and speed will impel the laziness out of the shoe-plus-individual relationship, replacing it with a fast-paced mechanics. The level of efficiency thus achieved should help with the individual's confidence in their stride.

Another benefit, which will greatly improve any job where standing all day is a requirement, is the new, yet straightforward, comfort levels. This single point is probably the most important for the shoes salability, because comfort rates amongst the highest of values when it comes to the customer's reason for a purchase. The notion of comfort is broken down into the smaller concepts of stability, mobility, and shock attrition, each with unique characteristics. Stability implies that a user is going to feel confident in their strides, as well as strong when doing the activities that require committed moves (i.e. running, hiking, most of the sports, etc.). Mobility implies that a user is able to extend, comfortably, their range of motion, in space as well as in time. With footware, each foot is going through a full set of motions without any obstruction in or slippage from, the shoe itself. Shock attrition implies that the pain and fatiguing nature of a foot strike is alleviated (and much higher levels of shock attrition will soon be within our reach).

It is hard to identify, with any sort of surety, how the public will receive this technology. In part, this is because no one company has made a change at this great a level since the industry entered into maturity. The benefits that arise from using new footware is what gives us our drive. When the ideas are realized, even in part, there will be, hopefully, a new youthfulness in how the industry is run -- and in how the individual will run too.
